HouseHappy.org A New Online Platform for Real Estate Buyers Sellers

HouseHappy.org A New Online Platform for Real Estate Buyers Sellers Househappy Brings Photo-Based Social Sharing to Real Estate Househappy.org wants to be the social media destination for everyone looking to buy or sell real estate. Househappy is all-in-one resource guide to the real estate industry where individuals and realtors can post pictures of their houses for free. The new website has a photo-centric layout that has been compared to Pinterest, and Househappys founders are hoping their site takes off in much the same way Pinterest has in the last few years. Househappy isnt the first one-stop real estate industry resource on the Internet. Unlike its biggest competitors, however, Househappy doesnt plan to make money from commissions and subscription fees. Househappy is free to use; the company hopes to make money with integrated advertising within the sites content. Theyre following the Angies List model by showcasing detailed information about services available in highly specific areas. The sites primary goal is to connect buyers and sellers. Its creators also hope to help people find service providers such as plumbers, painters and roofers. Kevin McCloskey had the idea for Househappy a few years ago. Inspired by the Match.com model, he decided that instead of finding people to date, users would take advantage of a similar platform to find real estate and related services. As a broker in the 1990s, McCloskey saw the real estate industry crawl into the online arena. All these years later, he found that real estate still hasnt fully taken advantage of social networking and the open community that the Internet allows. Existing real estate sites limit visual search, are crowded with too many charts and graphs, and seem to hinder communication rather than encourage it, McCloskey said in a press release. When buyers, sellers and brokers visit Househappy, they find a Pinterest-style design with home photos laid out in a grid. Clicking a photo takes the user to more details about a listing. This simple design has been popular latelyâ€"established competitor Trulia recently introduced its Suggests platform, which lets users mark listings and view them in a grid on their profiles. The site showcases properties including houses and apartments. Plans for a smart phone app are in the works. The site is compatible with the latest versions of iOS and Android devices. The site is set up to work in 235 countries. McCloskey had the following to say in a recent interview announcing the launch of his business: Buyers are sometimes hesitant to approach a broker, or intimidated by the financial aspects of the transaction. Househappy will provide a platform for all involved in the buying process to communicate on their own terms. Buying a house is a visual experience, he continued. The Internet is full of beautiful images and innovative ways to use them. Real estate sites still rely on graphs and data. Househappy will focus on the actual houses and provide data in a more approachable way. The site showcases properties including houses and apartments. Plans for a smartphone app are in the works.
